Tangram is an old Chinese puzzle made up by seven geometrical shapes. It is used mainly as an entertainment, but psychologists use it to measure children's physical and mental capabilities. This program is a virtual version of this game. It has hundreds of pre-designed figures that you must piece together using all the shapes. These figures are divided into eight different categories, so you can choose easily if you want to do an animal, a human figure,an object, and so on. You can customize the program's interface by choosing among different backgrounds and materials for the pieces, such as plastic, wood, stone or tiles. Also, you can create an entirely new puzzle and save it in the program so other people can try to solve it.
Maybe the main disadvantage of this application is that you can't rotate the shapes easily. You need to right-click on the figure and choose among several predefined rotations. Maybe it will be better if you could rotate the shapes by using your mouse's cursor.
You can use the shareware version during 7 days. Also, this version only features 7 puzzles in each category. If you like the program and intend to use all its capabilities, then you will need to purchase a license.
